Stingers Hockey Fall 2024-2025
The Crystal Lake Stingers Hockey Club is a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) mite travel hockey division and the AAU affiliate, Chicago United Hockey League (CUHL). Under the guidance of Hockey Director, Steve Martins, the Stingers is designed to have young hockey players develop a love and passion for the game of hockey through skill development, practices and full-ice games.
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Players must have a birth year of 2016, 2017, 2018, or 2019 to participate in the 2024-25 fall season.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
The fall CUHL hockey season begins with tryouts in mid August and runs through playoffs in February. The official conclusion of the season is with Super Sunday on March 2, 2025.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Practices and home games are held at the Crystal Ice House. Away games may be played across Chicagoland and southern Wisconsin.
Practices
When are practices?
Teams practice 2-3 times per week. Skills and team practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with an additional skate on Saturday if no games are scheduled.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Teams will play 6 seeding round games and 18 regular season games. Home games are typically scheduled on Saturdays.
Two tournaments are included in the season fees, typically one in the Wisconsin Dells and one local.
Uniforms
Home and away jersey/sock sets and black game pant shell-$250 (payment due at time of delivery).
Players and Goalies require Extended Benefit AAU memberships which will be purchased by the Stingers after August 15th and are a part of your season fees.

Skater Fees: $2975 including registration fee
Goalie Fees: $1550 including registration fee

Thursday, August 15th: Group 1 5pm & Group 2 6:10pm
Saturday, August 17th: Group 1 9am & Group 2 10:10am
Tuesday, August 20th(if needed): Group 1 5pm & Group 2 6:10pm
Fall Season practices will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd
